Flower and Bird Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Thorny Branches White Rooster

This flower and bird scroll painting is a study of the thorny branches white rooster theme, patient and well observed. The painter trusts suggestion over statement, letting the viewer complete the picture. It belongs with the best of elegant chinese wall scroll, the sort that settles into a room from day one.

Drawn with economical strokes, the thorny branches keeps the scene grounded and honest. The white rooster settles naturally into the scene, balanced against the larger forms. It is the kind of picture that grows quieter the longer you look. The details are specific enough to trust and loose enough to dream on. It is painted the way a good story is told: plainly, and with everything in its place.

As classical chinese brush painting, it asks for nothing more than a good wall and soft light. It does not shout, and that is exactly its strength. Morning light flatters it; harsh sun should be avoided.
