Flower and Bird Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Lotus Seed Pods Reeds

Open this flower and bird scroll painting and step into the lotus seed pods reeds theme, painted in the traditional way. Color, where it appears, is used sparingly and to real effect. For shoppers browsing oriental wall hanging, this one hits the familiar notes without a hint of fuss.

With the butterflies, the scene gains a lived-in quality that rewards slow looking. Drawn with economical strokes, the reeds keeps the scene grounded and honest. Drawn with economical strokes, the lotus keeps the scene grounded and honest. Against the silk ground, the lotus seed pods reads clearly at any distance. Tonal shifts are subtle but deliberate, guiding the eye through the composition.

As a piece of ink wash painting, it carries the calm authority of the classical tradition. A calm picture for a busy house, and all the more welcome for it. A calm, cultured backdrop for a study, hallway, or quiet corner.
