Flower and Bird Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Eagle Pine

This flower and bird scroll painting renders the eagle pine theme with the poise of the old masters. The picture holds together through balance rather than busyness. It belongs with the best of chinese silk scroll painting, the sort that settles into a room from day one.

Painted with an easy, practiced brush, the eagle feels observed rather than invented. Gnarled pines anchor the foreground, dark against the pale wash. The picture lives in its ink wash, tonal rather than colorful, and richer for it. A quiet picture, but one with real staying power. The overall tone is one of ease, the hardest thing to paint and the easiest to enjoy.

Collectors of feng shui home decor will recognize the vocabulary at once: restraint, balance, and a feel for the natural world. Days pass, and the picture keeps finding new ways to hold the eye. Give it time; the best pictures are slow company.
